Today, Habitat works with other charities and communities to improve the quality of housing and community buildings for vulnerable groups. Through Habitat ReStore we serve thousands of local families by creating access to low cost home improvement materials and provide learning and employability training for people of all ages including vulnerable groups. Our partnerships remain focused on reconciliation and building strong, vibrant communities in which everyone can reach their full potential.
The ‘House to Home' programme supports vulnerable people who have been homeless or at risk of homelessness, to sustain tenancies in rental accommodation by helping them to make a house a home. The project makes a house ‘a home’ for people who need a fresh start, and are already among the most vulnerable in our community. Habitat Ireland mobilises volunteers to deliver a dramatic impact, both physically and socially.
House to Home volunteer days are Wednesdays & Thursdays, 9:30am – 4:30pm in the Lisburn & Greater Belfast areas.
We are excited that we are currently piloting the House to Home programme in the Ballymena area. The volunteer days in this area are Thursdays & Fridays, 9.30am - 4.30pm.
House to Home is a great opportunity for individuals or groups to join with us in supporting the most vulnerable in our community.
