Long-time Habitat volunteer and supporter Mary Wells, is aiming to raise £500 for Habitat as she celebrates a big birthday this year.

Mary said, "I have now reached a significant birthday and rather than presents this year, I would like to use the opportunity to do some fundraising for this charity which is very close to my heart. I want to support the great work that Habitat for Humanity does locally, as well as around the world."

Mary has been part of Habitat for over 20 years, beginning when she was a sixth form teacher in Assumption Grammar School. Drawn to the idea of helping families in need and students along their educational journey, she became an advocate for change. Between 2006 and 2014, Mary and her students traveled to Mexico and Malawi to build homes. Mary has been an active volunteer in our school programmes, helping young people wherever she can.
