Massive thank you to Girl's Brigade Northern Ireland who, over the course of our three-year partnership, raised £25,340.63 to support Habitat's work. The funds raised by GBNI supported those locally and globally who don't have a safe place to call home.

Habitat's Chief Executive, Jenny Williams, said, "We so much appreciate the support of Girls Brigade NI over the last three years. It has been wonderful to see the fundraising events, competition entries, visits to ReStores and Habitat-themed activities which raised funds and unpacked our work with hundreds of young people and their wider communities."

"At Habitat, we seek to put God's love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope. Through this partnership, all sections of GBNI were engaged in active mission and learned how we can make positive change in our own communities, and around the world. Thank you all!"

Over the course of the partnership, the aim was for girls to continue to develop an understanding and appreciation of the wider world; know more about the work of Habitat for Humanity and develop a greater awareness of various issues related to Habitat's work.

Year 1 focused on the importance of a safe place to live; Year 2 on the issue of sustainability and how waste impacts the world we live in and Year 3 focused on how girls can use their voices and actions to create change, have influence and make a difference in the world.

There were also a number of competitions throughout the partnership with the most recent one encouraging Explorers to colour in a picture of the ReStore lorry out on collections and Juniors were asked to 'Design a Poster' encouraging people to shop/donate or volunteer at their nearest ReStore - the five winners can be seen below. The standard was very high and made the judging all the more difficult!

These posters will be going to the ReStores were they will be displayed over the next few months - so make sure to have a look for them next time you're in store!

Habitat were delighted to have the opportunity to share in over 43 companies to 1,517 girls. This involved Habitat staff and volunteers sharing about the work and impact of Habitat here and around the world and how they could get involved. From Portrush to Kilkeel and Castledawson to Cloughey it was a privilege, not only to share about Habitat, but to see the wonderful work of Girls' Brigade across so many different companies.

Thank you to all of the young people, leaders and communities who supported the partnership across the three years.

Keep up to date with the latest Habitat Ireland projects and news!
